Rung, our founder, has made sure that ira offers more than just products, but also acts as a movement that provides menstrual education, battles misinformation, and takes action against period poverty. Rung has led multiple "ira for all" initiatives to provide sanitary pads to those in need within Thailand and its neighbouring countries. So far, over 33,000 have been donated:
- To Karen people residing in refugee camps along the Myanmar-Thailand border
- To migrant workers in Bangkok confined to their construction campsites as part of controversial COVID lockdown measures
- To 730 students in Bangkok
- To the Luuk Rieng Youth Group, which provides support for children and youths living in the Southernmost provinces of Thailand, where children are often targetted as strategic victims of violence to attract public attention (this is an ongoing project)
Follow us on our journey in reducing period poverty with our impact measurements. Because we believe that everyone has the right to basic hygiene.
